Torenzaal 14.45: Tyler McCullogh TrioLooking back at tradition, looking forward to new ideas. From familiar standards to fusion and funk-jazz pieces. Improvisation and invention is what you can expect. Marnixzaal 15.30: Funky Monkey SundayA quintet guided by their love for energetic jazz and modern arrangements of old standards. With a vigorous flutist and a lively rhythm section, Funky Monkey Sunday will show whether it is Funky, a Monkey or Sunday. Torenzaal 16.15: PlaceholderA quintet that consists of 3.5 Mediterraneans and a Dutch bass player, trying to explore the limits of ethnic jazz, odd meters and being late on time… Marnixzaal 17.00: FenneFENNE’s music is like an autumn day: anything can happen, from a rainstorm to a sudden ray of sunshine peeking through the falling leaves. The band’s sound is a combination of pop and jazz, with a lot of improvisation and unexpected harmonies played over a distinct groove with memorable melodies. Like diary entries, her lyrics encompass dreams and expectations, disappointments and desires. Torenzaal Singer-songwriters:15.15: LuiseAn emerging artist born in Berlin and grown-up all-over Europe. Her mix-and-match upbringing is reflected in her music with a diverse blend of sonic influences, as well as a uniquely honest, wise and melancholic writing style that dives deep into themes like young adulthood, identity, insecurity, and of course the age-old classic – love. 16.00: MumblersTurning mumbled words into an intimate livingroom athmosphere, the singer-songwriter duo Mumblers will lull you in with mysterious sounds, vocal harmonies and texturous guitars. 16.45: AnoukA Dutch singer and songwriter who has been working on her debut EP ‘Blue Stars’. Her dreamy songs are a mixture of pop, indie folk, soul and rock. The catchy melodies and melancholic harmonies are memorable, but what really moves the listener, is Anouk’s raw, powerful voice.
